Sumo match rules are simple. The conditions of victory are as follows.
- Oppornent wrestler attached his body on the ground except his sole of foot.
- Put the oppornent wrestler out from bandled straw made ring.
- The oppornent wrestler has violated.
In the sumo rule, kicks, elbow strikes, punchs by fist are violation. But, attacks by palms is OK.
Beginning the match will be decided by both crouching wrestlers after the signal by the referee called “Gyouji（行事）” . When two wrestlers who stand up at the same time, the match starts. It is redo if timing deviates.
